Development
Once your tech packs are complete and they have been published, you are ready to start development. Quotes for bulk production are attained after the sampling process is complete as suppliers are able determine all costs required while in the process of making the sample.
In the Development tab, you can send your product to the Calico network of suppliers for quote and also order a sample all in one simple step.
Start with the Create new project button.
Name your project, then choose the product and choose the version you would like to send out for sourcing.
Continue by completing the information:
Target Cost Price: The estimated price of the fabric plus the manufacturing of the garment (aka Cut Make Trim).
Target release date: The date at which you would like your merchandise to ship to you.
Variations and Quantities - choose how many units of each size you would like a quote for. Typically MOQ per order is 300 units across sizes and colours. (Note, please enter 0 for any sizes or colours you don't want as a part of your quote).
Sample Variant: The colour and size you would like to order for the sample.
Billing and Shipping Address: Use the drop down to select your billing and shipping address.
The next screen will show you the status of your Development Project. The Progress Status will be updated as factories are chosen for your projects based on their skillsets and your product requirements. Once the factories are chosen, you can order a sample from the factories and pay for the sample using credit card. The sample cost includes shipping.
Once samples are ordered a chat will load in the inbox for the sample project with each supplier. If there are any questions about measurements, fabric or other details, the supplier will reach out to you to confirm. You will receive an email if there is an unanswered message from a supplier after 24 hours.
The supplier will provide tracking info once the sample is ready in the chat as well.
When the sample is complete, the supplier will provide bulk cost for your project. You can then move on to order a bulk PO.
